Key
Stage 3 (Years 7 - 8)
Our Key Stage 3 curriculum is "condensed" into 2 years, allowing students to move on in Year 9 to work appropriate to their ability and interests.
It emphasises the development of the skills needed to succeed in school and later life as well as knowledge and understanding of particular subjects.
The school's VLE (Virtual Learning Environment) allows students to begin to take more responsibility for their own learning.

Key
Stage 4 (Years 9-11)
Our
philosophy is that pupils should
be encouraged to continue with a broad and balanced
curriculum, while also being able to begin
to specialise in the subjects at which they particularly
excel. Those students who are ready for more advanced study are given the opportunity to move on at the rate which is most appropriate for them. Options are chosen at the end of Year 8, Year 9 and Year 10.

Students have the opportunity to complete the Extended Project Qualification - a detailed independent study in an area of the student's choice.
We offer a wide range of extra-curricular activities, which combined with our A-Level Studies allow students to achieve the AQA Baccalaureate Qualification.
In recent years we have begun to work closely
with Ermysted's Grammar School at Sixth Form level.
Joint provision of post 16 courses with the boys'
grammar school, which is located within easy walking
distance, allows our students access to an even
broader range of subjects than would otherwise
be the case.
Each
year we take into our Sixth Form a significant
number of students who have taken their GCSEs
at other local schools;

arrangements.
