Ilkley Literature Festival Wins
At the end of last academic year, the English department worked with students across year groups to send in entries to the Ilkley Literature Festival Young Writers Competition. SGHS students’ results were astounding – the list is printed below. Several of these students attended the prize giving evening, reciting their work in front of an audience.
Submitting work to a competition can be a nerve-wracking experience, and we were thrilled that we had nearly a hundred girls enter the competition from the school, putting their work out there to be read by someone else – a really brave thing to do!
