Attainment and Progress

Skipton Girls’ High School is a centre of academic excellence where young women are challenged to succeed at the very highest levels. Each year we see this reflected in the outstanding results achieved at GCSE and A Level.

Exploiting their creative talent and intellectual energy these young women also excel across a breadth of activities which include Duke of Edinburgh, Engineering Education Scheme, Young Enterprise, and a wealth of music, sport and community activities.

A Level Results – 2016

The Level 3 Value added score (L3VA) measures the progress students make from the beginning to the end of their level 3 qualifications (i.e. between the end of key stage 4 (KS4) and the completion of their level 3 qualification). Our calculated aggregate score for A levels in 2016 is 0.15 which is above the national average and is statistically significant. Therefore, we can be confident that SGHS is helping students make better than average progress across A level qualifications when compared to similar centres.
