The school was inspected by Ofsted in 2008, and was given the highest possible grade – “Outstanding”.
Extracts from the report give some flavour of the welcome and support girls enjoy at SGHS. Noting that our girls “benefit from outstanding care, guidance and support” Ofsted writes: “Younger students feeling comfortable in the company of older students from their first days in the school… Students’ personal development is outstanding because of the excellent care and guidance that they receive. They show a high level of enjoyment in what the school has to offer…Older students make excellent contributions to the social and academic well-being of others in their family groupings…They offer outstanding contributions to the life of the school.”
An interim assessment carried out by Ofsted in March 2011 confirmed that the school is still Outstanding.
Ofsted School Data Dashboard provides a snapshot of school performance and complements the Ofsted school inspection report by providing an analysis of school performance over a three-year period. Data can be filtered by key stage or by topic.

Ofsted also offer a service called Parent View which gives you the chance to tell them what you think about your child’s school. Parent View asks for your opinion on 12 aspects of your child’s school, from the quality of teaching, to dealing with bullying and poor behaviour. Ofsted will use the information you provide when making decisions about which schools to inspect, and when.
