Martha Featherstone           

Headteacher

Ms Featherstone has worked as a teacher for 20 years and joined SGHS in 2022. She believes strongly in the power of education to transform lives and is proud to lead a school of empowered and empowering individuals. She loves any opportunity to be in the classroom with students, especially when it involves talking about books.

 

Fiona McMillan

Deputy Headteacher and DSL

As Deputy Head, she has shaped a culture rooted in responsibility, care and high expectations. She is a steadfast advocate for both students and staff, and her deep knowledge of Skipton Girls' High School and unwavering commitment make her an integral part of our school community. Mrs McMillan  a { text-decoration: none; color: #464feb; } tr th, tr td { border: 1px solid #e6e6e6; } tr th { background-color: #f5f5f5; } leads on safeguarding and oversees the smooth running of daily school life. An accomplished badminton player, she also brings a wealth of Skipton Girls' High School knowledge—there is very little about our school that she doesn’t know!

 

Victoria Fox

Assistant Headteacher

Mrs Fox has worked at Skipton Girls’ High School for nearly a decade, her time spent in various roles, including the leadership of English and Communications, more widely in two trust leadership roles and, most recently, leading professional learning as Assistant Headteacher.  Her current role includes the line management of a range of subjects across the curriculum, supporting Learning Directors in their design and delivery.  She is passionate about learning and knowledge and particularly loves reading and teaching 19th century literature.

 

Jessica Holdsworth

Assistant Headteacher

Ms Holdsworth has worked in education for the past 25 years, specialising in A Level Psychology teaching, personal development, pastoral care and mental health. She believes in creating an educational experience that is child-centered, inclusive, and that truly celebrates and nurtures the growth and development of every child. She loves working with young people to inspire them to understand themselves and each other better.

 

Rebecca Lofthouse

Assistant Headteacher

Mrs Lofthouse has taught at Skipton Girls’ High School for ten years, following a successful career in Business Development and Web Marketing. She leads personal development, pastoral care and enrichment, ensuring every student is supported to grow both academically and personally. A Computing specialist, she enjoys spearheading Robotics and Engineers of the Future projects, inspiring students through exciting challenges and competitions. Alongside her role as Assistant Headteacher, Mrs Lofthouse also serves as Director of Data for NSAT, helping schools across our Trust Partnership innovate and use data effectively to support students with greater precision

 

Geraldine Townend

Assistant Headteacher

Mrs Townend has worked at SGHS for over 20 years in a variety of roles, joining in 2002 as a History teacher, leading the Humanities department and as a pastoral leader. SGHS runs through her core.  Mrs Townend now leads our sixth form and careers and is driven by the profound belief that education truly transform lives, expands opportunities and broadens horizons. The thing she loves the most, is working with young people to help them grow and thrive, so they can go out into the world as the best version of themselves.

 

Jo Roscoe

Assistant Headteacher

Mrs Roscoe has over two decades of experience in helping young people understand the mysteries of the world through Chemistry. Mrs Roscoe has led Science at SGHS and now in her role as assistant headteacher, she is responsible for curriculum development, and assessment and reporting. She likes nothing more than a challenging puzzle and can always be counted upon to find several solutions to a complex problems!

 

Joanne Busfield

Business Manager

Ms Busfield has worked at SGHS for over 23 years. As Business Manager, she is responsible for keeping a sustainable school budget, with effective financial monitoring.  She is also responsible for overseeing the school site, keeping a safe environment for students and staff and ensuring our buildings and grounds are well maintained to support teaching and learning.  She is always looking ahead at ways to adapt the school environment to support SGHS' development needs and sustainability.
