Celebrating Outstanding Student Success at SGHS
Skipton Girls’ High School is proud to celebrate the exceptional achievements of its students following another year of outstanding academic results.
A Level Triumphs
Our Year 13 students have once again demonstrated remarkable dedication and talent, with over a quarter attaining an average grade of A* or A. These impressive results have enabled students to secure places at their chosen universities, apprenticeships, and career pathways.
Headteacher Martha Featherstone shared her pride, saying:
“We are extremely proud of every single one of our students and all that they have accomplished. They have exciting times ahead, and we are confident that they will embrace the opportunities before them with enthusiasm, commitment, and dedication.”
We are looking forward to celebrating their success and hearing all of their news in December when they return to SGHS for the annual Prize Giving event.
GCSE Excellence
The celebrations continued as Year 11 students received their GCSE results, marking another milestone in SGHS’s tradition of academic excellence. An incredible 94 students achieved top grades of 8s and 9s, with 24 students averaging these grades across 10 GCSEs.
Headteacher Martha Featherstone commented:
“We have always known that this year group is special, even before these fantastic results. They have worked incredibly hard, supported each other and created a wonderful community. These results mark five years of learning, growth and effort and we are delighted to be welcoming so many into our sixth form.”
Deputy Headteacher Fiona McMillan added:
“We are incredibly proud of every single student. Their outstanding GCSE achievements, combined with their dedication to sport, music, and art, have equipped them with a strong foundation for the exciting journey ahead.”
Assistant Headteacher and Head of Year 11 Jessica Holdsworth said:
“It has been a privilege to support such a fantastic year group, and we are incredibly proud of what they have achieved together.”
Looking Ahead
As SGHS students move forward into the next stages of their education and careers, the school community celebrates their success and looks forward to supporting their continued growth and achievements.
